Kaup: Friction erupts over management of Katpadi mosque

Kaup, Oct 25: Two groups which had differences over the management of the Palligudde Juma Masjid at Katpadi near here fought on the issue on Wednesday October 24.

The two groups initially argued over the matter. After the heated arguments, it is said that the two sides came to blows.
Discussions centered around the proposal to appoint a single person to head the management committee of the mosque and also its development committee. After verbal altercation, the fight turned physical, it is gathered.

The members of the two warring gangs used chairs to hit one another. Some reports said that one among them also tried to intimidate the others by firing from his revolver.

Some members of both the groups got admitted into hospital. More details are awaited.

The police, who confirmed that such an incident had indeed happened, added that a formal case is yet to be registered.
