Mangaluru: Air India flight to Mumbai cancelled due to technical snag

Mangaluru, Oct 26: Air India's daily flight to Mumbai was cancelled on Thursday October 25 on account of technical problem. The aircraft had departed from the gate and taxied to the runway but thereafter the flight was aborted sighting technical problem.

The flight was to leave from here at 12.45 pm on Thursday with over 65 passengers. Before the take off, smoke was detected in the engine and the pilot immediately suspended the flight. Sources said that engineers from another destination have to arrive here to attend to the problem before the aircraft can be airborne again.

Director of the airport, V V Rao, said that Air India flight to Mumbai had to be cancelled due to some technical problems and that alternative arrangements were made for the passengers of the flight.
