Soldier injured in J&K gunfight


Srinagar, Oct 26 (IANS): An army soldier was injured in a gunfight on Friday in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said.

As security forces laid a cordon around Pazalpora village of Sopore, hiding militants fired at them triggering an encounter in which an army soldier was injured.

He was shifted to a hospital and his condition was stable, a police officer said.

The operation was still underway and was being jointly conducted by the Rashtriya Rifles (RR), special operations group of police (SOG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
