Complaint against Smriti Irani in Bihar court over Sabarimala remark

Sitamarhi, Oct 26 (PTI): A complaint was lodged at a Sitamarhi court on Thursday against Union minister Smriti Irani for her alleged remarks on allowing women of menstruating age into the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. A controversy had erupted after Irani said at an event in Mumbai on Tuesday that women had a right to pray but “not desecrate” places of worship.

Hours later, she tweeted that she made “2 factual statements” and “rest of the propaganda/agenda” was launched using her as a “bait”.

The complaint was lodged before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sitamarhi, Saroj Kumari by advocate Thakur Chandan Singh. Singh has made protesters against the entry of women into the shrine as a party in the case.

On September 28, the Supreme Court lifted the ban on entry of women of menstrual age into the Sabarimala temple. However, women were stopped by protesters from climbing up the hilltop shrine.

The complaint has been lodged under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy to commit an offence punishable with death), 124A (sedition), 353 (deterring public servant from discharge of duty) and 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. The matter is likely to come up for hearing on October 29.

When I was small i.e. about 60 years back we used to play boys and girls together and I was surprised during the period time Hindu girls used to stay away from household duties i.e. Kitchen work, and go near water well etc. They were kept separate place and served food not in the kitchen. We were not knowing anything about this..... Now we know they were treated unholly during their period time. Now no body knows about when these ladies are in period time.
If we want follow the old system then every man has to stop the lady to take care that his wife must not attend any household, office work. if he is in modern world than why we have stop them only for particular work only not to attend the temple etc.

Irony is that, modern woman, not refraining to go to work during those impure days, earns revenue and part if it offers to God - that is alright - nobody says only what man earned is pure - woman shouldn't give offerings because part of it impure.

We humans are strange ! We make rules on behalf of Gods but Gods don't reject the offering we women made. So, who is correct ? The God, or the human ?

    Shri PEDDUN,MANGALURU, please note

The complaint was filed by advocate Thakur Chandan Singh of Bihar. There is no mention of 'FOREIGN NGOs' in the above news report.
You say 'there are temples people should go with clean and purity'. So, during about 3 weeks in a month, when women without menstrual blood soaked pads, can enter those temples ?
"Filing case against someone attract nothing and which will not stand in the court as it is wasting of time and money" - very strange statement! India will never reach that stage for that matter any country. Today, in our country, top 2 CBI Directors fighting cases each other in the court !

We worship women for their contribution to mankind.
But we bar them and suppress them at our will.
Even the deities were born to women.
They have passed through all that we call as unclean.
I am not singling the Holy Place in question.
There are many more places irrespective of cast or creed where women are descriminated.

    Mr. Rajesh..

It not about slaves or bhakths. Its about a woman's privacy and dignity. How can Smriti use the word sanitary pad? Doesn't she care for dignity and respectability. Isn't she a woman? Or better still isn't she born of a woman?

Such words are not to be uttered in public Mr. Rajesh. Being an adult yourself, I am sure you would agree with me. It hurts the woman's dignity. Right from the first woman on this earth each of us women have to go through that cycle. It is because of this cycle that a life is born on this earth.

Further, every time Rahul opens his mouth to speak he is being trolled saying "Rahul is a Pappu and he does not know how and what to speak" etc. But now I dare ask you what is the difference between these two characters. Smrithi and Rahul? By daring the clown prince she herself has ended up becoming clown princess.

It would be better if somebody would bind Smriti and Biplab (another clown) in ropes and their mouths gagged. Otherwise with these kind of jokers do you think BJP will stand a chance in the upcoming election?

Though remarks made by Irani was offensive nature but she told the truth ! there are temples people should go with clean and purity and its not about any discrimination towards gender equality. This propaganda purely created by FOREIGN NGOs to spread hatred each other and suspect each other in India and they some extent succeeded in their mission!

Filing case against someone attract nothing and which will not stand in the court as it is wasting of time and money.. She didnt made any disgraceful statement on shrine ! It was her opinion and freedom of speech.
