Mandya: CM Kumaraswamy and Yeddyurappa engage in verbal duel

Daijiworld Media Network - Mandya (MS)

Mandya, Oct 28: "BJP is screaming that the coalition government in the state has no future and will collapse soon. Will we wait and watch till BJP will bring the coalition government down?" taunted chief minister (CM) H D Kumaraswamy.

Kumaraswamy was campaigning for the coalition candidate at Pandavapura of Mandya district on Saturday, October 27. Continuing his taunt against the BJP, Kumaraswamy said, "There are 125 legislators in Congress and JD (S). How the government will collapse? Is it possible for a party which has 104 MLAs to bring down the government? Do you think for no reason we have 125 seats?"

I will live for 84 years

"I will not die tomorrow. I will live for 84 years. I have spoken in an emotional manner in Malavalli. I am confident about my health. The love and faith of people has given me strength. Till the time people have faith on me, I am not scared of anyone," said Kumaraswamy.

HDK playing revenge politics, says Yeddyurappa

"I do not know whether chief minister of coalition government, H D Kumaraswamy is playing revenge politics or not. However, he has not granted a single paisa for the development of mining district Ballary," accused former CM Yeddyurappa.

Yeddyurappa was speaking at the press conference at Ballary on Saturday, October 27.

Continuing his barrage against Kumaraswamy, Yeddyurappa said, "Kumaraswamy, who says that the people of North Karnataka have not voted for me, they did not remember me while voting, has no moral right to talk about the development of Ballary district. Throughout the state the work of famine relief has not started. People are migrating. The government is facing shortage of funds. Bills worth more than 10 crores is pending in different departments including PWD."

"There is chaos in the Congress party. The coalition government is likely to collapse after the results of the Lok Sabha bye elections are out. We have not conducted any operation to bring down the government. If the government collapses on its own, we are not responsible," Yeddyurappa added.
