Alva's Resignation Accepted, also ped from CWC

New Delhi, Nov 12: The Congress has shown the door to its member Margaret Alva. The party has accepted Alva’s resignation from the post of general secretary.

The party has also dropped Alva from the Congress Working Committee (CWC) and Central Election Committee (CEC).

On Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi delivered a snub to the senior leader when he denied being unhappy with the manner in which tickets were allotted, amid clear indications of the high command’s toughening stance.

His remarks came after Alva met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi after appearing before the Disciplinary Action Committee chairman A K Antony. She is reportedly believed to have given a detailed explanation to the party chief, putting down the ‘cash-for-tickets’ allegation to emotional stress.

The senior Karnataka leader, who has been sulking over denial of election ticket to her son Nivedith in Karnataka recently, had alleged that "different yardsticks" were being adopted in deciding party nominations for upcoming elections in six states.

She was, however, snubbed by the AICC which rejected the charges of sale of tickets and ruled out any probe in the matter, besides maintaining that "no wrong-doing" had happened in the distribution of tickets in the state.

She had questioned why her son Nivedith and grand son of former Union minister C K Jaffer Sharief were not given nominations while relatives of two dozen leaders were given tickets in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir.

"Were my son and Jaffer Sharief's grandson anti-national, terrorists or smugglers?" Alva had asked.

It is hypocrisy to the core, one senior congress leader voicing against her party in public since her son was not given ticket. Then president of the party Sonia Gandhi showing the way for Alva. Sonia Gandhi must have forgotten the fact the herself and her son are in politics today simply because they are attached to Gandhi family. It is not new in congress which practice feudalism in the name of Democracy.

These old aged politicians who fail to continue their family members in the political saga as per their will, resign. Alva you are aged and should have retired long ago. All politicians above 60 should be compulsorily retired because they cannot carry the burden of ruling the country when they cannot they rule themselves on their body let them resign and cherish the good things they got freely from their political parties which game them such high recognition.

It is mockery and treachery to resign a insititution when you have enjoyed, earned enough for more than 5 successors to come. Lokayukta should stop raiding bureacrats they should raiding these politicians compare their assets as d when they stand for election and the actuals bet the next central or state budget can be made tax free!!!!!!!!!!!!
