Mangaluru: AICS football tournament held at Yenepoya soccer grounds

Mangaluru, Oct 31: AICS football tournament concluded with a spectacular closing ceremony on the October 27 held at soccer grounds, Yenepoya University, Deralakatte.

The chief guest of the morning’s inaugural ceremony, Dr Kishore Kumar, vice chancellor, Mangalore University, stated that every activity of the Yenepoya institution is so unique in nature, not only do they give importance to academics, equal importance is given to extracurricular activities which in itself is very commendable.

Farhaad Yenepoya, managing director of the Yenepoya Group presided over the function. Javeed Yenepoya, director of The Yenepoya group, principal, Joseph Machireth and Reshma Nayak, programme leader of The Yenepoya School were present. The vote of thanks was rendered by Ritu Raj.



The spectators witnessed a terrific and outstanding performance of the young and promising team players who were cheered by all who watched the fabulous games. There were certainly nail biting matches between the 28 teams that participated from Dakshina Kannada wherein Lourdes Central School bagged the winning trophy and Prestige International School won the runner-up trophy.

D M Aslam, president of Dakshina Kannada Football Association, who was the guest of honor at the valedictory function, emphasized the fact that each and every participant was a winner. Bibi Thomas, football coach, Yenepoya University presided over the function. Purnima proposed the vote of thanks.
