Aired on Daijiworld 24x7 channel every Friday at 9 pm, the show has garnered excellent reviews.

The show has brought aspiring singers of astonishing quality, on par with any national-level contest. After gruelling rounds right from the auditions, now six finalists – Jason Lobo, Bondel, Gavin Menezes ,Derebail, Velita Lobo, Kulshekar, Ashlita Rodrigues from Gurpur, Samson Coelho from Cascia, and Ashwija Mendonca ,Cascia - are ready to give tough competition with one another to be crowned in the first ever ‘Mhojo Tallo Gaitalo – 2018’ contest.

The audition round held at Forum Fiza Mall and Don Bosco Hall, Udupi, last year received outstanding response with contestants thronging the venue from various parts of the state. Contestants above age 15 participated with much enthusiasm. In addition, to give a chance to the singers who missed the auditions due to various reasons and get age relaxation, the TV also announced the Facebook live contest and hundreds of young singers participated in it.

Well-known composer of Konkani music industry Fr Denis D’Sa selected the best 63 from the auditions which was a big opportunity for the aspiring singers. In the semi-finals, 24 contestants competed against one another with the evergreen songs of Wilfy. Along with Fr Denis D’Sa, well known music maestros of Konkani music Alwyn Noronha, Bajpe and Joy Mathias Rai selected the final six and they are now ready for the grand finale. Meena Rebimbus, the life partner of legendary Wilfy Rebimbus guided and inspired the contestants throughout the show. Singer and VJ Babita Pinto mesmerized the audience with her special hosting style.

As per the expectation of the producers, the response for the show is overwhelming. With its first round itself the show is heading towards becoming a milestone in Konkani’s musical history. Before winning the title, the contestants have already registered their names in Konkani’s music world. Many have got opportunity to sing in music albums and many prestigious stage shows and nites.

The finals will consist of 3 rounds. Audiences can choose songs for their favourite contestants by choosing from the list which is posted on MTG Facebook page. Same time, audiences also can vote for best singers via SMS to the number which is displayed on TV screen at the time of show.

The winner will be honoured with ‘Grand Golden Mike' title on December 23 in a special event. ‘Mhojo Tallo Gaitalo’ final rounds will be telecast on Daijiworld TV on every Friday at 9 pm from November 2 onwards.

Wilfy was a truly a gifted soul. his lyrics mesmerized people of our generation, the youngsters of the 1970's and '80's.

His songs on mothers love, relations, brought tears to a lot of peoples eyes... as well as happiness and joy at his humorous and jovial songs. A true icon Mangalore produced in the music world.

Rest of us can be followers. A humble person who achieved great heights by his pen and song. I am sure he must be happy above seeing his legacy move ahead.

Really a great show. It was a opportunity to hear and learn about some of the song of the Maestro Wilfy which were only written for Konkani Dramas and Movies. There were instances when the song selection team explained about why the song was written and its importance relevant to the time and incidence . It was a wonderful experience to hear the variety of voices during the audition and semifinal round. A great show .Best wishes to all the finalist
