Varanasi: Death Anniversary of Sri Upendrateerta Swami Observed

The death anniversary of Sri Upendrateerta Swami of Kashi Math, was observed under the leadership of Sri Sudhindrateerta Swami of the Math.  
 


Sri Sundhindrateerta Swami was carried in a palanquin from Sri Kalibairav temple to Brahmaghat, in a procession. The volunteers welcomed the Swamiji, by chanting bhajans to the accompaniment of devotional music. Various religious programmes were held to mark the death anniversary. ‘Shata Kalashbisheka’, ‘Narasimha Stuti Namaskar’, a holy dip in the Ganges, and Ganga puja were also conducted.
 
‘Kartik Deepotsava’ and colourful fireworks were held at the Math. A special puja was also performed by Sri Sudhindrateerta Swami at Vrindavan. Swamiji also graced the stage programmes held later.
 
Volunteers from Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga, Udupi, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Baroda, participated in these programmes. Guru Parampara and bhajans in honour of departed Swami Upendrateerta were performed by Kodikal Nagaraj Kini and  Namrata Kini.
