Mangaluru: Rajyotsava celebrations observed at Srinivas Institute of Technology

Mangaluru, Nov 2: The 63rd Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great pomp and splendor at Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT) campus, Valachil, here on Thursday November 1, under the tagline 'Tantrika Neleyalli Kannadada Ale' which means 'creating waves with Kannada in the domain of Engineering and Technology'.

Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of the college inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and showering rose petals on Kannadambe– goddess Bhuvaneshwari- the reigning deity of Karnataka state. The state flag, the pride of Kannadigas, a feisty one in golden yellow and vermillion was hoisted on the occasion which was followed by a rendition of state and National Anthem by the congregation led by Shubham and his team.



The programme was coordinated by Prof Sudheendra H N from the department of Mechanical Engineering with the help of 'AISIRI' Kannada sangha 2018-19 with its president Aisiri of Electronics and Communication engineering student and secretary Rashmi of Computer Science and Engineering student along with their committee members.

The programme continued with three competitions namely essay writing, quiz and singing. More than 300 students participated in the event. More than 2000 students and staff (teaching and non-teaching) witnessed the Rajyotsava celebrations.
