Teachers strip girls to check for sanitary pad, Punjab CM orders inquiry

Chandigarh, Nov 4(DC): Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday directed to transfer the teachers of a government school in state's Fazilka district, who were accused of allegedly stripping girl students after the discovery of a sanitary pad in the school's toilet.

The Punjab chief minister has ordered the state Education Department Secretary, Krishan Kumar to initiate an inquiry into the incident.

The Chief Minister directed Kumar to complete the investigation by Monday and take necessary action.

The teachers were reportedly trying to find out which of the girls were wearing a sanitary pad. A video clip showed some girls crying and complaining that teachers stripped them on the premises of their school in Kundal village three days back.

The chief minister initiated action after he was informed that instead of educating the girls about proper disposal of the pads, the teachers decided to strip them.

Further disciplinary action, as per conduct rules, will be taken once the formal report is received, an official spokesperson of the Punjab government said, adding that the Chief Minister had asked Kumar to personally update him with the final inquiry report.

We are idiots indeed. Our politicians rob and live on pension after retirement. Even Modiji was reluctant to waive GST on Sanitary Pads. Even our sisters and mothers pay for being girls and women. National income is for political looters and criminals. What does an unemployed get from the State? How come politicians are entitled for pension and girls pay for even sanitary pads? We vote for them to keep us in slavery.
Do we have courage to say that we will not vote unless the unemployed are being given monthly sustenance? Poor are not entitled for as much amount as our MLA and MP get once they retire after looting the country? What makes them eligible while we voted for them and we are not entitled for the same? Is it because they bribed us during vote that is our share of National Cake?

In some convent schools in Mumbai, the trained people from Johnson & Johnson are invited periodically to conduct sessions on menstruation and the hygiene to the girls of 7th standard onward. This gives the girls the knowledge of complete natural reality, being a girl. Instead of stripping, the school could have taught them hygiene.

Yes, you are right. Sanitary Napkin producers (different brands) go to various schools, conduct a talk and make teenage girls aware about the times they may soon face. Such companies give free samples to the school management so that it could be used in emergency when a girl faces embarrassing situation in school hours.

Think of my horror when I overheard a girl telling her mother during shopping for pads in a mall, that the school charges Rs. 20/- per pad if a girl happens to want one.

Now, you will stop them to attending school too while menstruating ???

You should have instead made provision for discarding them properly so they won't be left in the toilet.
