Bengaluru: Lord Ayyappa, who does not wish to see women, is not God - Prakash Rai

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Nov 5: Actor Prakash Rai who is in the limelight due to one or the other controversy has entangled himself in yet another issue by saying that the God who does not wish to see women is not a God at all.

Prakash Rai, who participated in the Gulf International Book Fair, spoke about the Sabarimala temple issue and said, "Woman means mother. We compare mother earth to a woman. We get born through the same woman. What is the meaning of keeping the same woman away from the Pooja? If girls and women are not allowed to pray, then it is not a religion for me."

"The devotees who do not allow women to have Darshan of the Lord are not devotees at all. The God who does not see women is not a God at all. The Kerala temple has to allow women to enter inside the temple. No one has the right to prevent women," Rai added.

The Sabarimala temple will be opened on Monday, November 5 for the monthly Pooja. It will be closed again on the night of Tuesday, November 6. As the window of opening duration is very less, there is a heavy rush of devotees at Sabarimala. Police officials have taken high-security measures to prevent any similar disturbance like last time.

In total 1500 police personnel including 100 women police are deputed in and around Sabarimala temple. In addition, a 20-member commando team is deputed at Sannidhanam, Nilakkal and Pampa area. Barricade is placed in the middle of the road to screen the devotees. Heavy security is provided near the temple. Permission letter is made mandatory to book a ticket for the Darshan of Lord Aiyappa. This information is given by the Kerala police.

A special pooja called 'Shri Chitira Atta Tirunal' will be offered to the Lord Ayyappa on Tuesday, November 6. The devotees will be allowed to have a Darshan of the deity during the pooja. The temple will be closed at 10 pm on Tuesday, November 6. This information was given by the administrative board of the temple.

In triple talaq matter every dogs tail comenting and formenting tales against Muslims as they are certified scholars of Islam , now the SC asking ladies to accept in sabarimala same people who are supporting feminists rights talk about age old traditions and religion should be independent without the interference of courts and politics. And it should be , but why against Islam only ?

    Dear Haneef,
Your caustic reaction is definitely understandable. However, it need not always be a zero sum game. Loss of one community need not necessarily be considered as gain by other community and vice versa. As soon as politics is brought into the mix, then it is very much a zero sum game and whence I guess your caustic comment.

One common line linking both the cases is:
Women approached the doors of SC for justice as they felt the social system/tradition was unjust to them. As per the rights bestowed by the constitution, they have given the verdict.
Traditions and cultures as long as it is managed amicably outside the court can live for thousands of years. If there was an amicable solution reached within the social structure, we might not have been discussing Sabarimala, Shah Bano or TT.

Note: Girls upto 10 years, and women above 50 years can enter Sabarimala temple..No restrictions..

Can any one in any religion prove that a deity wants selected ones to worship him, only particular section, age group come n worship. If so that deity is false one or human made one. If it's a true deity nothing affects it he remains holy n holy no human can ever polute it. It's all human missundwrstanding, missguiding.

The only opposition for decade-old Sabarimala rituals is coming is from RSS-BJP associated right-wing outfits, including the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Hindu Aikyavedi.

The BJP & RSS is commonly used by the depiction of Bharat Mata in the RSS poster holding a saffron flag and not the Tricolour.

The award-winning actor Prakash Rai has just reminded those fanatic groups this is the same women figure of 'Bharat Mata' they are worshipping beside the 'Bagwa flag' with RSS founders.

If the supposed 'Bharat Mata' of menstruating age wanted to enter 'Sabarimala', will RSS-BJP will allow her or use excessive power to threaten her life?

The BJP and the RSS which brag about “ Chal, Charitra and Chhera” from rooftops stand exposed. “The slogan of ‘Beti Baccaho, Beti Padhao’ and the moral high ground taken by RSS and BJP stand exposed.

From BJP former Rajya Sabha MP MJ Akbar stand against 'Me too' campaign or rape of underage daughters in the shelter home in UP and Bihar by BJP member or Kathua rape of 9-year old nomad girl in the temple BJP stand on women empowerment which is limited to 'Triple Talaq' Muslim women is exposed.

Either RSS-BJP accepts 'Gau Mata' is their only biological mother or make it stand clear on the Sabarimala.

Hindu temples are basically not places of worship but energy centres where the positive energy of the cosmos is harnessed for our well being. It is carefully designed and rituals are followed according to the Agama Shastra and the Vedas.

Now ,coming to the point- Some temples are built in such a way that the energies or certain occult practices that happen around the temple may effect the female easily. This is seen the other way as the deity is a naisthila brahmachari.

There are certain temples where men are not allowed inside .
This is not discrimination . This is for the well being of all.

By the way his name is not Fernandes or D'Souza. He is Prakash Rai and he is very much a Hindu.

As for the problems in our Christianity we don't you point out. We will sort out. The problem with you people is you want to get your children educated in convent schools. You want to send them to Christian countries for higher studies and placements and yet point out at the problems in Christianity.

In which religion there are no problems can you tell me. But these days I get to read and hear more of the problems in Hindu religion sadly to say. Be it Subramanya Mutt/Temple issue or Sabarimala issue or Udupi Temple seer death issue.

Yes i admit fully there are problems in Christianity as well. So has the Lord given you the authority to judge. He is there high above seated on the Heavenly throne to judge.
