Mandir pitch to hide Modi government's 'all-round failure': CPI-M

New Delhi, Nov 5 (IANS): The CPI-M on Monday said that the RSS-BJP was raising the Ram temple issue just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections to deepn communal polaristion and hide the "all-round failure" of the Modi government.

The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) expressed concern at "alarming statements" being made by BJP-RSS leaders and Union Ministers threatening to create "a 1992-like situation" that led to the razing of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.

These, the party said in a statement, were posing "grave dangers" to the country's unity.

"The BJP had officially stated that it shall abide by the apex court judgment. It is now engaging in a volte face as the general elections are drawing close. By whipping up passions over the Ayodhya dispute and raising the demand for the construction of a temple, RSS and BJP aim to sharpen communal polarization in the country, which has horrendous consequences," it said.

"The effort to consolidate the Hindutva communal vote bank in the run-up to the elections, apart from seeking to divert people's attention away from the all-round failure of the Modi government, poses grave dangers to our country's unity and integrity," it said.

It said that demands for enactment of a law for construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya was tantamount to subversion of the judicial process and was "unconstitutional and illegal".

The Left party said that "alarming statements" were being made by Union Ministers and the leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its parent organisation the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

"The CPI-M calls upon the central government to stop patronizing such forces who are out to destroy the unity of our country's social fabric and the BJP state government in Uttar Pradesh to faithfully discharge its responsibilities in maintaining law and order," it said.

This government is far from the NDA of Vajpayee. They have only one slogan : Mandir. There is no talk about development, education, healthcare etc.

A drowning man will clutch at a straw. In a last ditch effort, Modi is trying everything possible to save himself. Following his disastrous performance since he became the PM, there is absolutely nothing to show by way of the so-called development. The only way he can now hope to fool the people is to talk about statues, cows, mandir, religion and divert the attention of the people and somehow get another term. The prophetic words of Dr. Manmohan Singh still ring in my ears - If Modi becomes the Prime Minister, it will be disastrous for the country. He predicted this about five years back.

No doubt the Mandir issue is being raised to divert the peoples minds from the all round failures of the BJP and in view of their impending defeat in the states going to polls shortly.

The Ram Mandir issue is the BJP's trump card. They wanted to exploit the religious card so much so that the citizen's of India forget about government failures, corruption, rape exposed in Me too and above all 'Rafale scam' which exposing its nationalism.

For any devoted Hindu, the timing of the Ram Mandir is a clear indicator to open an eye of BJP's wrongdoing.

Perhaps CPI-M is the only party which exposes the BJP-RSS, while Congress party President Rahul Gandhi taking new avatar.

For BJP Hindu children dying in hospital of Gorakhpur is not an issue which they wanted to build Hindu Rashtra. Malnutrition, farmers suicide and so on.

2019 may be an inevitable truth.

Last ditch effort to save sinking ship. They brought in Jinnah IN UP byelections, but failed miserably by Gunna. People can wait for Mandir till final verdict of SC, BUT THEY NEED URGENTLY jOBS, REDUCED PRICES of commodities/ Fair prices for farmers, 24 hours electricity, clean drinking water, better air quality to breathe. Hope instead of getting themselves fooled by voters this time, they will adress issues of priorities. Otherwise be ready to sit in the opposition

BJP will never build the RAM TEMPLE, if built there is no agenda left for them to garner vote in the name of religion, as simple as that.

I bet even if muslim community agrees for RAM TEMPLE( which they should do) BJP will not build the same.
