Beltangady, Nov 15: Delivering the felicitation address at a function organized at Dharmasthala on the night of Friday November 14, state Yakshagana Academy president Kumble Sundar Rao said that Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade has been doing everything possible to bring into practice the notion of 'Rama Rajya', the welfare state. Through various schemes floated by him, he has become the harbinger of welfare and development of citizens of the state, he hailed.
The felicitation function was organised on the occasion of Heggade completing 60 years of age, at the Amruthavarshini Hall. "Heggade's has been a personality that drives away despair and provides leading light to people through truthfulness, justice, friendship and security, towards hope and assured future," Kumble said. He also appreciated Heggade's ability not to be carried away by fame and to keep an eye on even minute issues towards the concept of totality and perfection in everything, he explained.
Dr B M Hegde in his address, wished that Dr Heggade, who has imprinted his unique style of functioning in the development of the state and led everyone who comes into contact with him towards progress, will win national recognition for his contributions and will be conferred with the 'Bharat Ratna' award.
Replying to the felicitation, the Dharmadhikari advised people to do whatever they are doing with total dedication and to their level best, rather than doing several works at a time and not being able to do justice to them. "Everyone has to develop his personality. Let us pardon everything that we cannot change. Lord, give me courage and strength to change what I can. Give me the power to understand why I did not do what I could have done and also how was it possible for me to do what I have done," he said.
Hemavati V Heggade was present. When the Heggade couple exchanged garlands, the audience erupted into a thunderous applause.
D Surendra Kumar, Anita Surendra Kumar, Harshendra Kumar, Supriya Harshendra Kumar, Rejendra Kumar, Nita Rajendra Kumar, Dr Niranjan Kumar, Padmalata Niranjan and Shraddha Amit were present at the dais.
Prof S Prabhakar felicitaed Heggade couple, while Dr B Yashovarma presented the citation. Felicitation committee president Dr Jayaram Ariga, Srinivas Acharya and several others presented mementoes to Heggade. L H Manjunath proposed vote of thanks.
The Heggade couple, seated in a tastefully decorated vehicle, were led to the venue of the felicitation, accompanied by a huge procession that inluded 60 women with pitchers in hand and volutneers in the uniform of soldiers.
