Days after filing divorce, Tej Pratap Yadav allegedly missing from hotel room in Bodh Gaya

Patna, Nov 6 (Zee News): Tej Pratap Yadav, son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and brother of former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, is reportedly missing from his hotel room in Bodh Gaya from Tuesday night.

This comes days after he filed for his divorce from his wife Aishwarya Rai.

Tej Pratap was on his way to Bihar’s capital Patna from Ranchi in Jharkhand after meeting Lalu Prasad, when they decided to halt at Bodh Gaya for the night.

The RJD leader stepped out of his hotel room while speaking on the phone and escaped his security guards through the backdoor exit.

It is believed that he escaped in his car and could be headed to Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh.

As per reports, Tej Pratap refused to budge from his decision to divorce Rai during his meeting with Lalu citing compatibility issues.

Rai is the daughter of RJD leader Chandrika Rai and the two had got married on May 12 this year. Rai is the grandfdaughter of former Bihar chief minister Daroga Rai.

"It is true that I have filed a petition. Ghut-ghut ke jeene se toh koi fayeda hai nahi (There is no point in living a stifled life)," Tej Pratap had earlier said.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Tej Pratap's lawyer Yashwant Kumar Sharma said, "They couldn't get along. Application under Hindu Marriage Act was filed through me on behalf of Tej Pratap Yadav. I can't say anything else at this moment."

The sudden development comes months after reports said that Aishwarya Rai, granddaughter of former Bihar chief minister Daroga Prasad Rai, might contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections on an RJD ticket from Chhapra in Bihar.

Aishwarya and Tej Pratap had got married on May 12 this year. Rai is the daughter of RJD leader Chandrika Raithe and grandchild of former Bihar chief minister Daroga Rai.
