New Delhi, Nov 15 (Agencies) : A 53-year-old fashion designer and her 50-year-old domestic help were found murdered at her residence in Vasant Kunj Enclave of southwest Delhi on Wednesday night.

The designer has been identified as Mala Lakhani while the servant has been identified as Bahadur.

Police have arrested three people, including a tailor employed by Lakhani, in connection with the murder.

"One of accused Rahul Anwar was a tailor at deceased fashion designer's workshop. He committed the crime with two of his relatives in an attempt to loot," Joint CP Ajay Chaudhary said.

"At around 2:45 am today, three people came to police station and disclosed that they've committed murder. Police immediately rushed to spot to verify facts. House owner Mala Lakhani and her servant Bahadur were found lying in a pool of blood," news agency ANI quoted police official as saying.

"Lakhani had set up a workshop in her house for cutting and tailoring. Accused Rahul was working as a tailor master there. He along with his associates Rahmat and Wasim made a plan to murder. They stole valuables from the house and left the spot in the car of the owner," police added.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

The bodies were stabbed brutally with a sharp-edged weapon and were lying in pool of blood when the police reached the spot on Thursday morning.

New Delhi: As per latest developments in the sensational Vasant Kunj double murder case of fashion designer Maya Lakhani and her household help, police told media that in the wee hours of Thursday morning (2:45 AM), three people approached the police station and confessed that they had committed the murders.

Subsequently, cops rushed to spot to verify the shocking claim and found that Mala Lakhani and her servant Bahadur were found lying in a pool of blood. According to police, Lakhani had set up a workshop in her house for tailoring her creations.

The main accused, Rahul, was working as a tailor master at her Vasant Kunj farmhouse. Rahul, along with his associates Rahmat and Wasim thatched a plan to murder her. The motive behind the ghastly move was the lure of stealing valuables from her house.

They also fearlessly left the scene of crime in Mala Lakhani’s car itself. Lakhani used to run a boutique in Green Park area of south Delhi which was not too far from her residence. The sensational murder in south Delhi’s posh Vasant Kunj area sent a wave of panic among the residents as several policemen were seen rounding up people in the wee hours of the morning.
