Mangalore: Police Arrest One for Bomb Hoax Call to Infosys

Mangalore, Nov 20: Konaje police arrested a person on Thursday November 20, in connection with the hoax call made to the Infosys office near Mudipu, stating that a bomb was planted at the company’s office in Kottara in the city on Wednesday November 19. 

The arrested has been identified as Guruprasad, a former employee with the security agency that provides security personnel to Infosy’s. 

The hoax call sent waves of panic amongst the staff of about 300, for about an hour and a half till the bomb disposal squad confirmed that the call was a hoax. The sniffer dogs found no explosive substances in complex and adjoining lawns and parking lot. 

After the hoax call, security has been beefed up in all IT establishments including Infosys offices here, said Sateeshkumar, superintendent of police.
