Bantwal, Nov 16: Former minister B Ramanath Rai has alleged that the motive of helping corporate world is hidden in the merger of profit making Vijaya Bank with loss making banks.

Speaking in the protests in B C Road in front of Vijaya Bank held by Bantwal and Panemangaluru Block Congress opposing merger of banks, he said that those things happen on orders from the prime minister. “There is a conspiracy to wipe out proud bank of Dakshina Kannada,” he alleged.

Not unparliamentary word

“Nalin Kumar Kateel being an MP has spoken forgetting his responsibility. His statement that Manmohan Singh has signed for bank merger shows his ignorance. I have not used non parliamentary word. Shiradi road work is being stopped now has Nalin spoken to the concerned department,” he asked.

‘Work will not stop whether we win or lose’

“I will not stop development work started during my term whether we win or lose. Some are saying that I am blocking all the work of the MLA. But who is blocking projects started by me like private bus stand, Padil district complex, implementation of drinking water project and Benjanapadavu sports stadium. We are not insulting workers working at Indira Canteen and trying to break its compound wall,” he said,

District panchayat members M S Mohammed, Tumbe Chadraprakash Shetty, Manjula Madhava Mave, B Padmashekar Jain, Bantwal block congress president Baby Kunder, Panemangaluru block president Sudeep Kumar Shetty, Taluk panchayat vice president Abbas Ali, APMC president Padmanabh Rai, party’s Mayilappa Salian, Sanjiva Poojary, Prashanth Kulal, Madhava Mave, Lukman, Mohammed Nandarabettu, Gangadhar Poojary, Parameshwar Moolya, Ramakrishna Alva, Chittaranjan Shetty Bondala, Dhanalaxmi Bangera, Mohammed Nandavara, Sadashiva Bangera, Siddik Guddeyangadi, Hasainar, Sampath Kumar Shetty, Sharif, Shantiyangadi, Vasu Poojary and Vijay bank’s Shekar Moolya were present.

Sri R Rai is an able and a good leader. Its good to know that he is contesting for the MP elections in 2019. With able support of his fans and Congress party, I think he will sweep the polls and show Nalin Kumar his right place.

Desperate attempt by an individual who was trashed to a humiliating defeat in the elections to stay in news. We saw it when Rai said that he will arrest Kalladka Bhat in 2 weeks of being elected , way back in 2013.

merger of nationalized bank was a proposal pending since many years with upa government also. chidambaran then FM was to keen to merger of leading by so that Indian giants bank figure in international level. but scuttled by bank unions. only SBI is the indian bank today ranking list of big banks in world map. the plan to merge the bank for more lending and do better business with international bank .
but the sudden merger of three banks recently without discussion in the parliament is not in the favorable situation ether to the employees or growing percentage bad loans. few months ago finance ministry put many crores of rupees from LIC TO IDIBI BANK that was also a wrong decision since few years government is not serious/strict of recovering bad loans of big businessman and industrialist in the banking industry which creates doubt among the public that government also favoring bad loans borrowers mainly big industrialist

    Absolutely right

socialist Indira Gandhi family messed up all banks - who does that kind of bad moves - million times negative than demonetization

a terrible move which led to corruption and no collateral loans- defaults and failure
    chairman's and managers did well

I love Vijaya bank- It was started by my Bunt community to help the needy- led to bad management after nationalization

Merger is the way to save these banks and eventually privatize them

Chaiwala became PM and he cannot think beyond Pakodas. He thinks all citizens in this country is corrupt and his crony friends like Ambani, Adani are honest. That's why he brought failed demonetization. He ruined country's economy and many banks, ILFS & LIC on the way to bankruptcy. Still people have to tolerate this chor govt for another 6 months. Thereafter 'Ache din aane wale hain, Modiji Jaane wale hain'.
