Sullia, Nov 21: State BJP president and Mangalore MP D V Sadanand Gowda assured the farmers that the government will not politicise the issue of farmers' welfare. The government is aware that measures like market intervention, support price etc. can only be temporary in nature and what the farmers need to profitably engage in cultivation, are basic necessities like water, road, power etc." We will concentrate on executing projects that provide permanent relief to farmers and make them self-sufficient. The country can be said to have achieved the goal of welfare state, only when the agricultural activities provide the farmers sufficient income and they no more need to look to others for any aid," he felt.
