Trainer aircraft crashes near Hyderabad


Hyderabad, Nov 21 (IANS): A trainee pilot escaped with minor injuries as a trainer aircraft he was flying crashed on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Wednesday, police said.

The aircraft, belonging to Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy, crashed in agriculture fields near Shankarpalli area.

The pilot escaped with minor injuries. He was shifted to a hospital.

According to residents, the aircraft hit a tree before falling on the ground. Technical snag is suspected to have caused the crash.

The aircraft had taken off from Begumpet Airport in the city.
