Bantwal: Husband and wife phone son about suicide, kill themselves

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (MS)

Bantwal, Nov 22: In a bizarre incident that occurred on Thursday, November 22, at Maninalkur Pattanadi near here, a couple committed suicide and informed the same to their son seconds before killing themselves.

The deceased couple is identified as Premanath Poojary and Chandravathi.

While Chandravathi killed herself by hanging from the wooden log attached to the roof of the house, her husband Premanath committed suicide by tying a rope around his neck and jumping into the well of the house.

It is said that Premanath Poojary called his son in the morning of Thursday and informed him that both he and Chandravathi are going to kill themselves and disconnected the call immediately. It is learnt that the couple used to quarrel everyday and this might be the reason for their extreme action.

Rural police station sub-inspector Prasanna Kumar visited the spot and registered a case.

Feel very sad happening in a farming community. Spirituality and counselling could have helped these couple.

Shocking act .Sad for the children /Son of the family.Because they were having daily indifferences, shouldnt suecide and make family or son more unhappy and put them in trouble.I am sure the man must have killed her first and hanged, then went to jump in the well after informing. Its a coward action to suecide. The father was in a rage and killed her, when realized she is dead, hanged her ,and he too couldnt stay back to answer the questions of family and son ,and of police.so he follwed her.when no peace at home, quarrelling.then go away.when not functions, take advice from a friend or relatives or social services.Religion heads.but dont simply suecide.you ahve no right to take your life nor others.Only can say heartfelt symoathy to the son and family.

    Jesus said,not me..listen carefully
In the world you will have difficulties.tensions,worries.sickness,troubles.but I have overcome the world...then why suicide?
Suicide is definitely not a solution rather it is a curse for their families and increasing problems thereafter

Heartfelt sympathies to the family and may their souls rest in peace
Very sad and such things should not happen and when there are fights in the family the neighbors should inform the police. You never know what is in store in future.

This is very socking and sad news. My deep condolence to the children of these couple who committed suicide. Every one should know that suicide is not solution to any ones problems. Our life is full of sorrows and happiness. We should not run from any sorrow or hard time. We have to face the situation. As the day follows night, happiness will definately follow sadness. This is very very hurtening that people commit suicite for silly matters. May God bless everyone with right way of thinking and let us live peacefully facing whatever situation comes accross us.

So sad. They should thought about their son's feelings on hearing their horrible decision. Wish he could have prevented them from taking this drastic.
