New York: Passport offices in all LS constituencies by March next

New York, Nov 23: Minister of state in the ministry of external affairs, V K Singh, revealed that by March next year, all the 543 Lok Sabha (LS) constituencies in the country will have passport offices.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Passport Seva Kendra newly opened at the Indian embassy at New York on Thursday November 22.

 

The minister said that it has been decided under the Passport Seva Yojana of the ministry, to open passport offices in every LS constituency. He said that once these offices are opened, people will be able to apply for and get their passports within a maximum distance of 50 to 60 kilometers from their places of residence.

    I wonder why none of the wise men thought of these things before 2014! Passports are instrumental in seeing & understanding the word. The arm chair bound frogs in the well, who think Passport is for fleeing, desperately need one.

    Not a good move.Centers needed where sufficient requests for the passport. They may open in every district head quarters.
