Former Norwegian PM meets separatist leaders in Srinagar


Srinagar, Nov 23 (IANS): Former Prime Minister of Norway, Kjell Magne Bondevik, on Friday met senior separatist leaders here.

The meeting was held at the uptown Hyderpora residence of Syed Ali Geelani, senior separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq tweeted.

"Fruitful meeting of JRL (Joint Resistance Leadership) with Kjell Magne Bondevik, ex-Prime Minister of Norway. As Norway is known to play a constructive role in conflict resolution across the globe, urged Bondevik to help in ending the daily killings and urgent resolution of the festering Kashmir dispute."

Syed Ali Geelani has been under house arrest in his Hyderpora residence for the last eight years.
