Bengaluru, Nov 23: A male employee of an online news portal in the city allegedly misbehaved with his lady colleague during the weekend dinner at a beer cafe at Koramangala in the city. The accused has been arrested by the police. This incident occurred on Saturday, November 17.

The lady in question, who is 22-years-old and a resident of Bannerghatta Road in the city had registered a complaint in this regard with the police against her colleague by the name Ajmal Kaleem. Ajmal was taken into custody by the police and was remanded to judicial custody on Monday, November 19.

It is alleged that the lady had gone to dinner with her colleagues Akash Anand, Ajmal Kaleem, Akash Girimath, Pebin Joshy and others to a pub in Koramangala at around 9.30 pm. Ajmal, one of her colleague, started to misbehave with the lady, after having a few rounds of drinks. The lady, in her complaints, says that she took offence for Ajmal's action and asked him to stay clear of her. However, she alleges that Ajmal forcibly pulled her into the washroom meant for gents and sexually harassed her.

The other male colleagues, who were informed of the incident by the lady, sent her home in a cab. After reaching home, the lady explained the ordeal to her family members. The following day a complaint in this regard was registered by her at the Koramangala police station.

The accused Ajmal Kaleem is apprehended by the police and further investigation is on.
