Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Nov 23: Deputy commissioner (DC) Sasikanth Senthil has issued orders to close all liquor outlets on November 25 in the district in view of grand Ayodhya Janagraha conference planned in the city.

The conference will be held under the leadership of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Nehru maidan. More than 50,000 people are expected to attend the event. People from Puttur, Sullia, Beltangady and Kasargod also are likely to arrive for the event. The DC has asked to keep liquor shops closed from 6 am till 12 am midnight on November 25 as a precautionary measure.

Where on earth is "central maidan"? All along, we've known a Nehru Maidan. Just because the sangh parivar doesn't like the name, does it mean we should stop calling it by its real name too?

Who will reimburse the liquor shops for any loss due to this order? They have paid a huge sum of money as license fees. The loss of sale needs to be challenged & also same deducted from license fee, since the DC is an arm of the government.
Today it is liquor & tomorrow it will be non-veg food. Like it happened in Mumbai. This is total misuse of authority & against the constitution.

If the Bus Owners Association has people of different religions, then the Bus Owners’ Association asking bus owners to provide free transport to people attending the event at Nehru Maidan is not proper, as all other religious events would have to be provided the same. If MLA Vedavyas Kamath had requested the Bus Owners’ Association to provide free transport, hope he will do the same for all religions. It looks simple but it is communal in flavor.

Power of God is above the Power of mortal man!!

Who are we that we boast about our power. Mere mortals. The Lord laughs at the wicked. For, he knows that our day is coming.

We come from from the ground and one day have to go back to the ground.
