Civilian injured in alleged Army firing in Badgam


Srinagar, Nov 23 (IANS): A civilian was injured on Friday in alleged Army firing in central Kashmir's Badgam district.

The police identified the civilian as Ishfaq Ahmad Ganai, 28. He sustained a bullet injury in Chattergam area of Badgam district.

"He was referred by local doctors to Srinagar city for specialized treatment where doctors described his condition as critical. We are ascertaining the details", police said.

Locals alleged that Ishfaq Ahmad, a carpenter by profession, was moving on his motorcycle in Chattergam area when he was shot by the army soldiers posted at the camp in the area.
