Civilian injured in J&K firing dead


Srinagar, Nov 24 (IANS): A civilian injured in firing near an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Badgam district, died on Saturday at a hospital here.

Doctors at the super specialty Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) said Ishfaq Ahmad Ganai who was admitted on Friday with critical injuries succumbed earlier in the day.

Ganai was injured the firing that took place in Chattergam area.

The army has refuted allegations that he was shot by soldiers posted in the camp.

They said he was shot by militants some 500 metres away from the camp.
