Devotees have donated 60 kg of gold so far for the project, for which, in total 100 kg gold is required. Earlier the plan was to apply a sheet of gold on the copper sheet for the tower (gopura) of the sanctum sanctorum. However, the plan is revised now. As lots of gold will be lost if this work is done through Rackery technology, the plan is revised to do the work by foundry method and then carrying out the work by machine. It is estimated that by following this method a maximum of 98% of gold will be available for work. Earlier, the plan was to cover with a flat sheet but now the plan is revised to include craft work on the sheet and apply the same in the form of a tile on the tower of the sanctum sanctorum.

It is decided to carry out the work of the laying of sheets in front of the Goshala so that the public can see the same. It is learnt that this work will be carried out in cooperation with the people of Daivajna and Vishwakarma Samaja, who are doing this work from the time of their ancestors. The work will be done under the supervision of Venkatesh Shet. It is decided to inaugurate the Golden Gopura on the occasion of Ram Navami.

It is also learnt that there is a plan to allow entry of people to the upper portion of the sanctum sanctorum in future, as the same is not visible from the ground level.

What is the use? Really people have gone nuts. If you are doing it to please God then remember, you gave back What God has given you. your afterlife will be decided by your deeds. God doesn't need anything materialistic from you. feed the poor, his prayers might help you get into heaven.

    Usha
How much you gave to Kodagu victims?
What is the duty of state which collects tax from us. It is the fsure of State Govt if the people starve. You can't force anybody to donate to the causes you feel good. Ppl preference differs. Who knows the ppl who r donating gold also have donated towards kodagu
