Bengaluru, Nov 25: The high court on Saturday, November 24, ordered the state government to give information about the Byatarayanapura police who was transferred for filing an FIR against state water resources minister D K Shivakumar.

Chief justice Dinesh Maheshwari and justice S Sujata, who conducted an inquiry on the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) connected to the clearing of unauthorized advertisement boards in the city limits, gave this order to Uday Holla, lawyer for the government.

BBMP officials had filed an FIR against D K Shivakumar for clearing the unauthorized advertisement even after serving a notice on the same. During the inquiry, the lawyer for the applicant argued that the concerned sub-inspector who has filed an FIR was transferred for his prompt action. B report was submitted instead of filing chargesheet against the minister and others in this case.

The court asked the Attorney General (AG) to read a few lines in the affidavit with regards to the transfer of the said official. The high court said that government has to provide response to the court with regards to the transfer of the official. The court will keep an eye on the people who have taken action on an officer, who has carried out his duty as per the law.

The next hearing in this case is postpone to December 1.
