First ever ‘Konkani Star Evening’ enthralls audience in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Nov 26: The stars of Daijiworld24x7 TV’s Konkani reality show ‘Mhojo Tallo Gaitalo’ and dancers of 'Nach Nara Nach Naari' along with ‘Team Expressions’ successfully staged the first ever ‘Konkani Star Evening’ at Sadbhavan, Rajaji Nagar, Bengaluru on November 25.

‘Carmel Kutam’, one of the well-known associations of Konkani speaking community in Bengaluru had organised the event for the aid of poor student’s education fund.

In a short formal stage programme, Fr Charles Serrao, provincial superior of the Karnataka – Goa province hailed the activities of Carmel Kutam and said, “After its beginning, Carmel Kutam is working for the welfare of society as well as community. Every year it is organising various activities which directly benefit the needy. Its many programmes help bring all community members together under one roof and create a single family atmosphere. Today with the intention of helping poor students they have organised the ‘Konkani Star Evening’. The artists of Daijiworld TV’s reality show have come here to perform entertainment programmes. Definitely it will become a historic event in the history of Konkani Community of Bengaluru.”



In his opening note, Dolphy D’Cunha, president, Carmel Kutam narrated the beginning of Carmel Kutam and its mission. He also explained the objective of the Star Evening and the association’s upcoming plans.

Fr Jerald Prakash, spiritual director, Carmel Kutam, felicitated the sponsors and supporters of the event. Pramila Maria, secretary, Richard D Souza, Derick Rolphy and Robert Joseph D Souza, office bearers, Carmel Kutam were present on dais.

The entertainment began at 6:30 pm with a popular song ‘Mhojo Tallo Gaitalo’ penned and composed by Wilfy Rebimbus. Later Ashvija Mendonca, Aslita Rodrigues , Velita Lobo, Chrismita D’Costa, Jason Lobo, Gavin Menezes , Samson Coelho, Joyson Lobo won the hearts of the audience with their melodious voice. Audience got the chance of hearing the songs composed by Wilfy Rebimbus, Mick Max, Claud D’Souza, Gracian D’Souza, Austine D’Souza Prabhu and Harry-Jerry D’Lema.

Sandesh, Delina, Merwyn, Shwetha, Vinol and Pearl put up an enthralling dance performance got a nonstop applause from audience for their unique and mesmerizing steps.

Well known stage artistes Alwyn Andrade, Sujatha Andrade and Sunil created laughter riot with their comedy show and were hailed by the audience.

Well known singer and VJ Babita Pinto hosted the event. Pappan and Joswin led the music team.

The vote of thanks was given by Pramila Maria. She expressed her gratitude and thanked everyone who directly and indirectly supported in making the event a grand success.
