Mangaluru: Hit by bus, pedestrian dies on spot at Kulur

Mangaluru, Nov 28: A pedestrian died on the spot after a bus hit him at Kulur on Tuesday, November 27.

Bhoja Poojary (45) is the person deceased.

As per details available, the bus was seen overtaking another vehicle. Then it hit Bhoja Poojary who was walking on the road. Within few minutes, Bhoja Poojary died due to injuries.

North Traffic Police have registered a case.

    OVER SPEEDING, PARALLEL PARKING and STOPPING VEHICLES ANYWHERE on the roads are common offences committed by bus drivers. The solution to this gnawing problem perhaps may be fitting speed governors.

    In the present instance the police will determine the cause of death of the pedestrian and take up the case in court.

    Private buses are always racing with rival company buses in order to earn more collection. That must stop but how ? Best way to cancel the driving licence of the driver who drives wrecklessly and found to be guilty and responsible for the death of a passerby.

    This city and Mangalore to Udupi express Bus driver s think that road there father property idiots I was on bike two times escaped from accident thank god and this is not first time there no controlling authority in Mangalore shame... because of this negligence innocent people will die on road ... strictly should taken complaint against driver and condector as well as the bus owner then only can avoid this kind of accident..any how rest in peace mr.bhojanna

    Has anyone seen the way the buses overtake at Kullur. The overtake at high speed on the right side & then cut the vehicle to the left at the bus stop. As the bus drivers know that there is a bus stop there & they need to stop, why do they overtake another vehicle. This has happened to me many a time & only by braking hard do we manage not to have an accident with them. The traffic police in the meantime are sitting under the tree near the bridge & look the other way.
    Please discuss this at the next Friday's meeting with the commissioner. Hopefully his "maan ki baath" will penalize the bus drivers.

    Didn't you read properly? Bus was in a hurry to overtake the other vehicle. Please note that many a times, these buses, Two wheelers ply on the footpath leaving not an inch space for the pedestrian to walk. Vehicles are in more hurry than those travel by vehicles.
