Bengaluru: 32 from Mangaluru and Kerala detained on suspicion of human trafficking

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Nov 29: Bases on suspicion, immigration officials at the international airport here detained 31 women and a man who were proceeding to Armenia. They have been handed over to police.

The immigration officials, who grew suspicious that it could be a case of illegal human trafficking, questioned these 32 persons. The passengers claimed that they had completed nursing course in a private college at Mangaluru. They said that they were on their way to Armenia to undergo a two-month course to learn German language in a college there.

During further inquiry, the officials found that there was no such college in Armenia. Therefore, they were handed over to the personnel of the airport police station.

The police said that there is no problem with the passports and Visas of these travellers. They said that all these youngsters were nursing students hailing from Kerala and Mangaluru, and that their parents have been informed. Noting that they were being led to Armenia by a Kerala-based man, Tony, they added that during questioning, Tony gave replies which were found to be not logical. Therefore, they stated that they would register case and subject Tony to further investigation.

    It was unusual one man and many girls in a group going to Armenia to learn German to go to Germany.It is but true there is a acute need of nurses here ,German Govt is ready to take nurses who know Grad B2.They should have certificate to get a visa .But this particular case is bit suspicious.Other side there is a news about some trafficars who bring people from Non european countries and make them marry a person forcefully from a EU so that to get a visa to enter Germany.quite possible this is so.These trafficers are having a visa or a German Passport.later these people have to work as they tell mostly as Pro.Groom or Bride is mostly not professional worker .

    @Jossey,

    Classic case of shooting from the hip my friend. I was wondering what the American Consulate had to do with issuance of a visa to Armenia. Either I read this incorrectly or you are just another of the individuals who love to say something and slink away.

    I think you need to firstly read, secondly comprehend before just making illogical statements sir. applies to many other of your comments on issues which are even deeper than this.

    Stay blessed and if you have a visa to the US use it cause they may need your reading skills.

    Cheers,
