Bihar Assembly adjourns again amid opposition ruckus

Patna, Nov 28 (IANS): The Bihar Assembly on Wednesday was adjourned for second consecutive day after the opposition RJD members disrupted proceedings demanding that the Speaker accept their adjournment motion to discuss the "misuse of CBI" against Lalu Prasad and deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, who is a member of Legislative Council, said the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) would not allow the Assembly proceedings unless the issue of misuse of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is discussed in the House.

The RJD members shouted slogans and created a ruckus over the role of Prime Minister's Office (PMO) with regard to the use of CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to frame Lalu Prasad and his family members in various cases.

Speaker Chaudhary urged the members to cooperate and allow the House to run smoothly. But, as the RJD members continued to disrupt the House proceedings, Choudhary first adjourned the House till 2 p.m and later till 11 a.m on Thursday.

The five-day winter session began on Monday where the second supplementary budget for 2018-19 is expected to be presented.

Bihar Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shravan Kumar said that apart from the second supplementary budget, some other important bills would also be presented during the session.
