Stage set for ‘Voice of Udupi Season 6’ grand finale on December 1

Udupi, Nov 29: The grand finale of 'Voice of Udupi Season6' organised by Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota (KSKO), Dakshina Kannada and Udupi will be held on Saturday, December 1, at 6.30 pm at Town Hall in Ajjarakad, Udupi.

The top seven contestants Vinush Bhardwaj, Saurabh, Dinakar, Samarth, Lisha, Greeshma Kateel and Megha are busy preparing for the stage performance.

The guests of inaugural function will be Jagadish Shetty, president, Karavali Kalavidara Okkoota, S T Karkera, former general manager and advisor Mangaluru Special Economic Zone (Lion district Cabinet secretary 317C -service activities), Suresh Shetty Gurme, business and social worker from Kaup, Prakash Kotian, owner Maruti furniture and industries Udyavar, Ranjana Shridhar Shetty, Lion Lady Council Advisor district 317C, B Nagraj, advocate Udupi, K Krishna Rao Kodancha, member CMC and Fr Mahesh D'Souza, principal, Don Bosco CBSC school Shirva.

The special attraction would be the performances by the contestants of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' and winners of Voice of Udupi from seasons 1 to 5. They will enthrall the audience with a musical concert on the same occasion.

The KSKO aims to provide a platform for youngsters who are eager to showcase their talent in singing field. Dr Mohandas Shetty, physician at Adarsh Hospital and keyboard player, Dr Satish Poojary, physician at Sri Matha Hospital Kundapur and singer, Ramesh K Puttur, keyboard player Puttur and Vaman Dalian, singer and Congo player Padubidri will be felicitated at the function for their remarkable achievement.

There are three prizes such as the first, second and third. There is an 'audience selection round', where audience can select first and second round winners. The winners of the show will get attractive trophy titled 'Voice of Udupi season- 6' along with cash prizes.

Voice of Udupi has nurtured many budding talents so far. Many singers are shining at national level.

The audition was held for all age groups, at Ninada musical instruments studio, Udupi and the contestants have given a tough fight. Versatile singer B Krishna Karanth and another keyboard player Bhaskar Basrur were the judges. The seven contestants have been selected in the audition round out of 56 contestants.

The finale will have a 15 member jury. They will select winners based on various grounds.

Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota (R) Dakshina Kannada and Udupi are also celebrating their 10th year anniversary. The Okkoota consists of 400 professional music and singing artistes. The Okkoota provides financial assistance for the poor students every year through 'Vidya Nidhi' scheme.

It also extends medical help to Okkoota members during emergency and it is also engaged in pro-social activities.

The KSKO had conducted a workshop for emerging singers recently. It has also donated kitchen accessories and other required equipment to a school in Karkala.

The singing competition has been organised by collective effort of Radhakrishna Bhat, president, Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota Udupi, Sharath Uchila, Naveen Chandra Koppa and office bearers of Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota (R) Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
