Gadag, Nov 29: The government schools in state are on the verge of closure. In a school in Gadag, there are only three students and a teacher.

The government school in Bandemmanagar in Naragunda town in Gadag, has just three students. The only teacher who serves here takes these three students to school in his bike and drops them back home.

According to locals here, earlier the student strength was not so bad. Since several locals started migrating in search of jobs, the students’ strength also slowly came down. Some families moved to other places after availing housing facilities of the government.

The issue has been brought to the notice of the education department and it has directed to conduct survey in the town in this regard. The officials also said that they have discussed with transport department to provide transport facilities to the town.

    Your comments are valid.Free education is fundamental right of child and Government should support it.What is happening is all government schools are pathetic in infrastructure & quality of education. They can make syllabus inline with private schools and trained teachers for schools. This has been demonstrated by Delhi government. one should watch interview of Delhi education minister and his idea.This is nothing but systematic way of closing all government schools and mint money through private schools by effulent people related to political parties.
    Earlier days people studied in government schools are doing well their professional life .So it means quality of education was good.At present it has been not improved considering the present technology.

    Why can't we have a study in Delhi model government schools and adopt the same in our government schools as well.

    "The issue has been brought to the notice of the education department and it has directed to conduct survey in the town in this regard" - why should this be brought to the notice of the department. The department is not knowing the fact? The dept is not having the details of its schools in karnataka? They have not surveyed the schools so far? If the department is not having the details how the public can trust the department. This is not one school,so many schools in Karnataka are in the verge of closure. Government knowingly creating this situation to favor private institutions. What is the problem to Kannada loving people and government if English medium is started from 1st std with one compulsory kannada subject?
    No problem politicians and kannnada loving people will occupy the vacant seats and the school will continue.

    Gadag has 65 colleges. Bandemmanagar has to be connected to a nearby town by State Transport ...
