Bengaluru, Nov 30: BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa got clean chit in two cases of violation of election code of conduct on Thursday, November 29.
The complaints were lodged against Yeddyurappa at Gundlupet station under IPC section 171 alleging that he had given money to the family of a deceased farmer asking them to vote for his party.
Also, Yeddyurappa who had gone for campaigning in Bheemanabeedu village had allegedly asked those who would vote for lotus symbol to raise their hands in the name of God. Yeddyurappa had also said that he would adopt Gundlupet village if BJP wins.
Police who conducted investigations into the incident had submitted a chargesheet to special court where the hearing was held subsequently.
Special court judge B V Patil, who heard the case, acquitteed Yeddyurappa for lack of evidence.
