Govt mops up Rs 17,000 cr from CPSE-ETF follow-on offer

New Delhi, Nov 30 (IANS): The government mopped up around Rs 17,000 crore through the CPSE Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) follow-on offer which closed on Friday.

The offer got subscription worth Rs 25,000 crore against the total issue size of Rs 14,000 crore, sources said.

The base issue size of the third follow-on fund offer (FFO) was Rs 8,000 crore, with green shoe option of Rs 6,000 crore making the total issue size Rs 14,000 crore.

"But the government, under the alternate mechanism, raised it to Rs 17,000 crore," an official said.

The CPSE ETF was first launched in March 2014 to help the government manage its divestment in Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE).
