Mangaluru, Dec 5: Shakthi Residential School and PU College in Shaktinagar has scheduled educational and cultural competitions on December 19 and 20 for students studying from first standard to tenth standard in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu and Kasargod district.

“The competitions will be held in four sections. Students of first and second standard are included in section 1. Those in third and fourth standard are in section 2. Students of 5th, 6th and 7th standard in section 3 and those in 8th, 9th and 10th standard are classified in section 4. Students of all the four districts and any medium can take part. There will be ten competitions in each section. The first, second and third prizes will be presented in the form of cash or books. The total prize money of Rs 1,25,000 will be distributed on the day of the competitions during the concluding programme,” said trust chief advisor Ramesh K in a press conference held in Madikeri.

The competitions will comprise of singing English, Kannada and Hindi songs along with acting, storytelling, drawing, Kannada poems, Kasadinda rasa, Kolaz, cultural programmes, fancy dresses, spell bee, quiz, speeches in Kannada, Hindi and English, poems of dasas, poster making, cooking without fire and science projects. Either one student or one team on one subject can take part. Participating students and teachers will be provided free meals and snacks.

Introduction to Shakthi Residential School and Pre University College:

Students from any place in the state can get education from LKG till PUC here. The school and PU College this year has four acre land and two lac square feet building. It has international standard CBSC and PU classes in science and commerce. Classrooms have air conditioned and smart classes. It is equipped with laboratory, hostel, canteen, large playground, swimming pool etc. Students who secure highest marks in the state are given free admission.
