Wipro takes on board design team of Australia's Syfte

Bengaluru, Dec 11 (IANS): Global software major Wipro Ltd has taken on board the design consulting team of Australian firm Syfte to strengthen its tech design and innovation capabilities, the company said on Tuesday.

"Syfte's team of designers will be absorbed within Wipro's design arm, Designit, further strengthening its design and innovation capabilities," city-based Wipro said in a statement.

The move will help the software major in expanding its reach in Australia and Asia-Pacific and enhancing the services offered by Wipro's digital business arm (Wipro Digital), it said.

The company, however, did not disclose the value of the deal and how many techies have been taken on board by Wipro as part of it.

"By adding Syfte's skills and expertise to Designit, Wipro will be better positioned to support its clients' digital agenda," the IT firm said.

The Chief Executive of Syfte Katja Forbes will be the Managing Director of Designit for Australia and New Zealand, it added.

"Wipro has a well established presence in Australia. With this expansion, we now bring a substantial and differentiated design and local engineering capability to the market," said Wipro Digital president Rajan Kohli in the statement.
