Government seeks apology from Rahul Gandhi on Rafale issue

New Delhi, Dec 14 (PTI): The treasury benches Friday mounted a counter-offensive on the opposition on the Rafale issue in Lok Sabha after the Supreme Court gave a clean chit to the deal, with the government seeking an apology from Congress chief Rahul Gandhi. As soon as the Question Hour was taken up, opposition members trooped into the Well carrying placards on various issues, including alleged scam in Rafale deal.

But BJP members stood up and started raising slogans against the Congress and Gandhi. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said following the SC verdict, Rahul Gandhi should apologise.

Amid loud sloganeering, around 11.10 am, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House till noon. The Supreme Court Friday gave a clean chit to the Narendra Modi government on the procurement of 36 Rafale fighter jets from France.

The apex court said there was no occasion to doubt the decision-making process in the multi-billion dollar Rafale deal.

    The primary duty of the Supreme Court is to ascertain whether the laws are executed and obeyed properly and to see to it that no person is deprived of justice in any court of law.

    The Supreme Court of India is the guardian of the constitution has rejected for petitions on the basis of 'Sealed Envelope'. The rules require Airforce to give a requirement of planes & then DAC to approve them. Here, Modi himself ordered 36 aircraft in an Ambanified deal though Airforce needed 126 & DAC required Technological transfer & make in India.
    Eight questions on Rafale the Supreme Court verdict leaves unanswered.
    1) Benchmark price controversy-The manner in which the benchmark price for the 36-Rafale-deal was changed at the last minute has been a source of controversy over the last few months.
    2) How did the deal change from 126 to 36?
    3) Lack of sovereign guarantee?
    4) Reiterating the official stance despite not discussing pricing?
    5) Hollande’s controversial statement?
    6) Confusing one Ambani brother for the other?
    7) On the ‘problems’ posed by HAL?
    8) Were official preconditions for buying Rafale through the inter-governmental route fulfilled?

    The present Chief of Justice of India Ranjan Gogi who is one among the four senior judges who revolted the functioning of previous CJI Dipak Misra citing having declared democracy in danger at a famous press conference and rebelled has failed to protect the constitution accepting the 'sealed cover'.
    1. Why does the bench which rejected the four petition has not asked the Center government on the pricing of the same 'Raffle' jet which ordered by Qatar and Egypt at lower prices with superior technology?
    2. When the pricing can be easily available on the Wikipedia, why does it cost more for India with fewer numbers on order?
    3. The center is not sharing the operational details. Then what is the hassle of sharing pricing with the nation?
    4. If RSS-BJP is really patriotic and worships 'Bharat Mata' why it is afraid for JPC?

    Don't beg for more, BJP, Rahul Gandhi is not a tea-seller faked as MA. He may not have uttered one word without any proof because he has been seeing politics since his childhood.

    He could be all ready with documents to submit if the court asked for them. Now, file a request for clarification and take it publicly.
