Shiradi Ghat Road Repair - High Court Extends Deadline

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Dec 12: Through an order passed on Thursday December 11, the state High Court extended the three-month deadline it had earlier set for repairing the Shiradi Ghat stretch of the national highway 48, to six months.

A divisional bench of the High Court headed by the Chief Justice P D Dinakaran had earlier ordered for the initiation of an Central Bureau of Investigation-assisted inquiry into the sub-standard execution of the road works at Shiradi Ghat and had asked the government to conduct repairs afresh within three months and file a report.

The government through an interim application, pleaded for at least six months time to conduct the road repairs, as it felt that the three-month deadline fixed by the court was too short.
