Mangalore: Book Release of Novel ‘Onti Obbanti’ held

Mangalore, Dec 12: The book release of ‘Onti Obbanti’, authored by Bola Chittaranjan Das Shetty, was held at the press club on Thursday December 11.

Jyotiprasad Hegde, president, Banta Pratistana, released the novel, which tells the story of Jogappa Jogati of North Karnataka, who is impotent.

Speaking on the occasion Reshma G Ullal, columnist said that the novel retains the reader’s interest till the very end. The author has tried to explain the blind beliefs nurtured by people regarding impotence.

The portrayal of characters and feelings is in a beautiful manner, she said. The book explains the sorrow and grief suffered by a person suffering from impotence and their hidden desire to have a family. But most of them stay away from society. These people are also a part of our society, and they must not be shunned, said Mohammad Kulai, author, speaking on the occasion.

Harsha, president, Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association, was the chief guest on the occasion.
