B'lore: Youth from Naxal-infested Regions Provided Employment in Garment Unit

Bangalore, Dec 12: A total of 40 unemployed youth belonging to naxal-infested regions of Beltangady taluk were handed over appointment letters issued by a garments factory in Bangalore on Thursday December 11.

They have been selected for employment at Arvind Garments, Yashwantpur. Social welfare minister D Sudhakar handed over the letters to the youth and wished them well.

Initially, they will get a monthly salary of Rs 5,000, which will be upwardly revised after three months. These people were provided the sewing machine operator training by Devaraj Urs Backward Classes Development Corporation, the minister said. He also added that there is a plan to provide employment to around 2,000 people from various backward regions by providing them training to work in garments and computer units.
