Mangaluru, Dec 17: St Mary’s Central School celebrated its seventh annual day on December 15 amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation.
The programme began sharp at 5:30 pm for which Msgr Maxim Noronha, the vicar general of Mangaluru diocese and Sheethal, the sub- inspector of Mulki police station were the chief guests. Shaila Sequirea, the vice president of Kinnigoli parish and Steevan D’Cunha, the vice president of PTA were the guests of honour. Fr Mathew Vas was the president of the function. All the dignitaries were welcomed at the school gate with a traditional guard of honour by the school band and were led solemnly to their seating places in front of the stage in a procession.
The programme began with a short prayer song and a welcome dance followed by the entertainment programme by the preprimary students. The dignitaries were taken to the dais by principal Fr Sunil Praveen Pinto and prize distribution was held. Then the chief guest Sheethal addressed the gathering. He spoke well of the institution and the programme. The stars of the school were felicitated by Msgr Noronha for their outstanding performance. Msgr Maxim Noronha addressed the gathering, appreciating and applauding the Institution and Management for its excellent efforts and achievements and wishing the Institution all the best for the future. The Annual School Report was presented by the principal, which was highlighted by a presentation of the school activities. The cultural items were presented on three stages based on the theme ‘Peace and Harmony. The singing of the school anthem bought the 7th annual day celebration to an end.
