Mangalore: LIC Agents to Hold Rally Demanding More Benefits

Mangalore, Dec 14: A rally and ‘dharna’ will be held in front of the zonal office of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), on Thursday December 18.

The rally is being organized by the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) Agents’ Organization of India. The organization is demanding Mediclaim, pension, and contributory provident fund for all agents and their families, on the occasion of the golden jubilee celebration, said L Manjunath, secretary, Union Committee, at a press conference on Friday December 12..

Apart from this, they are demanding that women agents be given maternity allowances and group accident insurance facilities, increase in the gratuity, and other miscellaneous demands.

Citizens and policy holders must oppose the central government’s plan to tie up LIC with a private company and this a protest to create awareness among people, said Manjunath.
 
B Gurucharan Rao, M Devdas, president, Udupi Division, and C A Joseph, vice-president, Union Committee, were present at the press conference.
