Milagres educational institutions host cultural fest 'Avishkar 2018'

Mangaluru, Dec 21: Inauguration of 'Avishkar 2018', a cultural fest was held on December 21 at Milagres Campus. The fest was inaugurated by Msgr Maxim L Noronha, vicar general, Mangaluru diocese by lighting the lamp.

In his inaugural address, he said an event as such will develop the personality of the students and also given opportunity for the creative minds to exhibit their talents. This platform should be made use by the students and society to transform themselves into better citizens in the global world. He also congratulated the institution for hosting such an event and wished them well.

Msgr Maxim Noronha was felicitated by the Milagres institutions.



The programme was formally inaugurated in a symbolic manner by letting off the balloon bunch of 'Avishkar 2018' by the dignitaries. The well wishers who supported to put up this event were honoured on the occasion.

The correspondent of Milagres Institutions Fr Valerian D’souza, campus director and fest convenor Fr Michael Santhumayor, assistant parish priest of Milagres Church Fr Edwin Monis, vice-president of parish pastoral council Cecilia Pereira, secretary Ivan Fernandes, PU principal John Pais, high school vice-principal Fr Maxim D’souza, CBSE principal Elveera Lasrado, academic advisor Prof Lourdusamy, PTA president of the various sections Laveena Lobo, Abdul Khader, Dolin Kiran, Sathish Ullal, Milagres College Alumni Association (MICAA) president Ashish Bava, treasurer Basith Hussain were present on this occasion.

The fun filled ‘Avishkar 2018’ has variety of entertainment and fun games like wheel of fortune, card game, housie housie, hooking the bottle, dim dam dush, electric games, car race, treasure hunt, lighting games, American auction. More than 20 stalls have been installed at the ‘Avishkar’ event including mouth watering food court with vegetarian and non- vegetarian cuisine.

There is also an inter-class event for degree students titled 'Parampara'. On December 22 there will be 'Baby Show' competition for children aged between 3-5 years, music gala, and PU annual day and Christmas celebration.

Campus director and fest Convenor Fr Michael Santhumayor welcomed the gathering. Teena D’souza compered the programme.
