Mangaluru, Dec 21: Accusing the central government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, of moving a bill that is against the interests of the linguistic minority, transgenders held protest in the city on Friday December 21.

The protest was organized in front of the office of the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district. It was led by an organization named 'Nava Sahaja Samudaya'.

The protesters said that by moving the 'Transgender Bill 2018' in the Rajya Sabha, the central government has sought to crush the rights of the transgenders. They raised slogans against the union government and demanded for immediate withdrawal of the bill.

The participants said that the bill in its current form should never be allowed to become law. They demanded for tabling of a bill that is in the interests of the linguistic minority.

A number of transgenders came together for holding this protest.
