Kuwait, Dec 22: Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait (SWAK), held its Annual General Body Meeting on December 14 at Harmony Hall, Salmiya.

The meeting commenced with the opening prayer lead by Felix Serrao and welcome note by President Alban D’Souza. Joint secretary Lona D’Souza read out the annual report featuring the events of the past year. Likewise, auditor Denis Pinto briefed the information on the financial statement of the Association to its members.

Vice-president Clifford D’Souza set out the agenda and asked members to express their opinions on the current team’s tenure.

In the second phase of the AGM, the existing committee was dissolved and requested election commissioner Gilbert Mendonca to conduct the election process to form new committee.

Dynamic Alban D’Souza was elected as the president of the association.

Apart from other issues, discussion was held on the forthcoming celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Health, Shirva Parish. Feast will be celebrated in Kuwait on February 8, 2019.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Clifford D’Souza and a delicious buffet dinner.
