Belagavi: CM blames BJP for wasting legislature time for two days

Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi (SP)

Belagavi, Dec 22: "The winter session of the legislature went on smoothly. Last two days of the proceedings went down the drain because of BJP," said chief minister (CM) of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy.

Speaking to media persons about the ten-day session of the assembly and council held at Suvarna Soudha here, the CM noted that during the early days, the sessions in both the houses went on smoothly without any problems. Congratulating the presiding officers of both the houses for conducting proceedings of the house smoothly, he said that debate for nine and half hours was held about north Karnataka during this session.

He claimed that the government has properly furnished replies to questions raised and charged BJP of blocking the government from providing suitable details on loan waiver scheme.

"I have never behaved arrogantly during the session, and never ever claimed myself to be very intelligent and knowledgeable. I had asked BJP members to come up with suggestions on loan waiver scheme. Our loan waiver scheme is a model for others. Yeddyurappa is an intelligent politician," he said.

Yeddyurappa on his part said that the chief minister has been continuing with his haughty, arrogant behaviour. He said that CM was expected to come to the house and apologize at least on the last day of the session and leaders of the opposition could have been taken into confidence. Noting that Kumaraswamy did not visit Suvarna Soudha, he predicted that the people of the state will teach him a fitting lesson.

The party of difference shining Indian BJP doesn't believe in democracy. When 'Chowkidar' can be Jasoos snooping every personal electronic gadget of Indian citizens there is no need of parliament session.

The BJP today is accusing the Congress of obstructionism. For years, it stood guilty of the same charge.
‘Disrupting Parliament is important’ The BJP’s words from opposition days come back to haunt it. Today wherever BJP is opposition it is employing the same tactics so that no questions on government can be asked. The reason PM Modi government has no data, no records.
The data shows parliament saw more disruptions under UPA-2 when BJP was in opposition. Lok Sabha productivity fell from 93% in 2009 to 46% in 2013 before rising after 2014, when NDA came to power.
Productivity in the last Lok Sabha under UPA II was the worst in five decades with the Opposition stalling business over issues like 2G scam, irregularities in coal block, FDI in multi-brand retail and appointment of Central Vigilance Commissioner. The Lok Sabha functioned for 61% of the time and Rajya Sabha 66%, according to PRS. Under the current regime, so far, Lok Sabha has functioned for nearly 99% of the available time and Rajya Sabha around 72%.
In the first five sessions of the BJP-led NDA, Lok Sabha functioned for 704 of 711 hours available while in these sessions during Congress-led UPA, the House recorded productive time of 549 hours against 768 hours of scheduled time, as per PRS legislative research data.
This is the reality of the BJP's 'Good Governance'. The party which beliefs disrupting parliament fundamental right for the state of the center hardly matters.

From last two years, congress has not allowed Parliament to function.
When only 800 farmers have been given loan waivers, what do you expect.
Congress is interested only in cabinet expansion.
