Six items taken out of the 28% GST tax bracket: Jaitley

New Delhi, Dec 22 (IANS) Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday said that six items have been removed from the 28 per cent tax bracket under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.

There were 34 items in the 28 per cent tax bracket which included luxury and 'sin goods' till now. However, the GST Council in its meeting on Saturday decided to take out 6 items from this list.

Only 28 items now remain in the 28 per cent GST tax bracket.

    5. Why the oil processing companies have given the rights to manipulate the prices on a daily basis when the contract is signed by the Ministry of petroleum?

    Why this embarrassment and damage cpz some unprofessional s are inducted in important portfolio of the nation called FINANCE its not jaitley or MODI cup of tea ! They could have hired SINGH for the advisory committee for the sake of nation ! They just playing with economy if its all the things going smooth then OK otherwise they revert back ! OH Maraya !

    BJP promised to waive electric bills in Gujrat after congress waived off farmers loan soon after assuming office. May be feeling election heat after a humiliating drubbing from 5 states out right. BJP, no use now, it's all over, even if you do head stand yoga till 2019 you are not going to win elections anymore.

    Mr. Jaitley,

    GST on battery for inverters or any batteries for vehicles is at 28%.

    Is it luxury and sin goods?

    Govt does not give continuous power hence people use inverters. Sin goods or luxury ?

    Cement is used to build the house and it is in 28% GST slab. Can you tell me Modi, Joltly how common man able to build the house. Is cement is luxury or sin goods to be included. How housing for all achieved.
